Thanks for joining me on this discussion of the aging process…from someone who is living it right now. I personally will be turning 65 in April; and while trying to go to sleep last night, I finally realized that I AM GETTING OLD! This realization hit me like a “ton of bricks”. Think of it this way, every morning I get up and look in the mirror to brush my teeth, shave, etc. and see myself. Aging for me has been such a gradual process, that I honestly never really noticed the difference from day to day, month to month or even year to year. I still like the same thinks I like, laugh at the same kind of jokes, shed a BRIEF tear near the end of the latest Hallmark cookie cutter movie which my wife recommended we watch together, enjoy catching a few (and only FEW) good games on TV featuring my favorite teams during the year, etc. This list could go on and on, but you get the picture. So if you would like to take this journey with me; feel free to “hop on board” and I’ll share some of my personal “musings” with you. I promise you will not be bored and…maybe even laugh a bit as well.

Hi Dale! I’m turning 65 this week and though I try to stay young by skiing and riding mountain bikes when I look in the mirror I too realize I’m looking old. Recently I was asked to join a trivia team because they needed an old guy! Well, there are benefits to our age like retirement and grandchildren. I look forward to reading your thoughts.

I cooked dinner last night for the first time in 8 weeks. I did it whilst sitting on a stool at the counter. Cast iron skillets are too heavy to lift! As we’ve already talked about, back problems are not easy to deal with. Especially when the one and only significant other is giving advice as old as the advice his Dad used to give. This has been coming on for years but I ignored it until I couldn’t stand up anymore. When this is all over, I’m going to find a Disco and begin again. C.
